Flintlocks

In 1543, a Portugese ship crashed on the island of Tanegashima. They introduced flintlock weaponry to the Japanese culture. The Sengoku period is considered to be from around 1454 - as late as 1638, way into the Edo period. This leaves a lot of wiggle room for what could be introduced into the game, flintlocks included.
