Change to Regional camps
Completely changing the method for taking control of a region:
I would like to suggest, instead of soloing the camp like it’s Ghost of Tsushima, the camp will have a nearby staging area for a siege camp. It would be a new basic structure to build. Instead of filling it with just tools and assigning workers, you fill in with weapons as well as the demolition tools, healing items, armor, and the workers. Meeting the requirements gives you a message, similar to the raid warning, that the siege will commence in a day or two. You storm the enemy camp along with your selected villagers -“ your dynasty has taken control of the region” makes more sense. This means a player would have to recruit the minimal number of villagers to even attempt regional control. It should be a significant event and grants a decorative trophy for your village.

NordsternIn general a neat idea, but that would require your villagers to not only pick up weapons, but also armor. Specializing in combat for villagers would also be a requirement in my opinion.
Another thing would be a complete rework of raid risk as a siege should increase a risk of raid on your village by other factions than the one you lay siege on yourself and the cadence of raids must significantly drop (see my suggestion somewhere here). If you manage to raid a bandit camp, the region should stay save for at least a year, depending on how many villagers you keep at arms (which should require much less than currently or simply increase the defense value a single armed and trained villager provides). After all, we all want villagers to specialize into samurais, right?
